The destination of Radol'ca is included in a long-distance cycle route, which has an emphasis on culinary experiences and sustainability. Two sections, which connect Kranj and Radovljica, run through the destination.
The Slovenia Green Gourmet Route (SGGR) is a long-distance cycle route through Slovenia, which combines cycling with opportunities for culinary experiences. The self-guided route, which has been designed to be ridden in 16 days, connects Ljubljana via rural and macadam roads with picturesque towns and villages, quality cuisine and cultural experiences.
The route runs through certified green destinations, of which Radovljica is one. The western route runs from Ljubljana via Škofja Loka and Kranj to Radovljica. On the third day of the ride, cyclists can reach Radovljica from Kranj via a choice of two possible routes. The easier route leads from Kranj towards Tržič and along the road beneath Mt. Dobrča, where it descends to Begunje na Gorenjskem and onwards to the end of the stage in Radovljica.
The second, harder albeit more picturesque route, leads from Kranj through Besnica and Podblica to Jamnik, from where there are magnificent views, before descending to Kropa. The route then continues across Zgornja Dobrava and through Globoko to the village of Mošnje and via the Forest Educational Trail to Radovljica.
Radovljica, which in a culinary sense is one of the destinations in the Gorenjska region the vastest range of options, offers numerous options for cyclists seeking good local food. It is home to restaurants that are part of the Taste Radol’ca collaboration as well as authentic rural restaurants along the way. In addition, there are numerous opportunities for sweet treats in cake shops, a chocolatier, wine tasting and a special chocolate experience.
The next stop after Radovjlica is Bled, from where it is recommended that cyclists take a scenic train journey to Most na Soči, before continuing the cycle route following the course of the Soca river to Kobarid and across fertile wine-growing Brda towards the Vipava Valley and the Karst. The entire route can be found here:
The long-distance cycling route, which was originally introduced in 2021, albeit a shorter version, received an excellent response from cyclists as well as international media. In addition to Radovljica, in 2023 Škofja Loka, Kranj, Postojna and Krško were added to the route. The project was designed and realised in cooperation with the company Goodplace, Tovarna trajnostnega turizma d.o.o.
The destination of Radol'ca continues to be among the Slovenian Green sustainable destinations.

“We believe that sustainability is a way of life; we are working today for the future.” This is the thinking of chef Uroš Štefelin, from Hiša Linhart, who this year was awarded a Michelin Star and is also the initiator of the Taste Radol'ca association.
Every first Saturday in the month from 10am to 12noon a farmers, craft and antiques market takes place in Linhart Square and the square in front of St. Peter's church.
