Alongside the Sava River, between Bled and Lesce, there is a wonderful place in nature that attracts lovers of active holidays and relaxing walks. Thanks to the pleasant environment, playgrounds and easy accessibility, the Šobec Camp and Park is popular among families with young children.
During the summer tourist season, the Šobec Camp and Park offers the perfect sanctuary for camping and active holidays in the embrace of nature. Outside of the main season, the camp is a popular place for relaxing walks through the pine forest and alongside the Sava Dolinka River. Due to the number of paths that branch off from the camp, which are suitable for prams and children making their first ventures on a bike, it is particularly popular with families with young children. In addition, there are children’s playgrounds, basketball and football courts, and during the season there is a mini-golf course and tennis courts. During summer, visitors can cool off by taking a refreshing dip in the Sobec natural pool or relax alongside it in the onsite restaurant, which is known for its excellent food and pleasant ambience. The restaurant is open year-round.
In addition to the aforementioned, the camp is an excellent starting point for hiking in the immediate surroundings. After crossing the bridge over the Sava River, the path to the right leads to the village of Koritno and onwards to famous Bled, following Stage 4 of the Juliana Trail long-distance hiking trail (Begunje–Radovljica–Bled).
The path that leads to the left from the bridge continues towards the Sava Bohinjka River and onwards to reach the Koča na Taležu mountain hut on the Jelovica plateau.
Another trail that leads from the camp is the Sava River Trail, which initially runs alongside the left bank of the river to the village of Lancovo then on the right side to the Fux footbridge.
The Three Bridges Trail also leads past the camp, from Radovljica across the bridge over the Sava River at Lancovo, to the Bodešče bridge and the bridge in the camp.
The Šobec wetlands are in close proximity to the camp. They are an important habitat for numerous species of flora and fauna. There are information boards alongside the wetlands, which acquaint visitors with its importance and biodiversity.
Visit the website www.radolca.si or the Radovljica Tourist Information Centre for more information and a map of the trails.
