MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE VISIT
Kropa, a small market town at the foot of the Jelovica high plateau, was the first Slovenian town to receive the status of protected cultural monument. The unique architecture of this ironworking centre, tells the story of blacksmiths families, while the town churches in an otherwise small village are a testimony of its former importance. Narrow streets, water locks and canals, stone carved portals and window shutter made of wrought iron give unique character to this place. One of the landmarks of Kropa is also the nail forge called Vigenjc Vice, where you will be able to see a demonstration of hand forging of nails (entrance fee) and test your hand at this interesting skill.
