The first boutique chocolate shop in Radovljica has opened at the entrance to medieval Linhart Square
The chocolate shop, named Radol'ca Chocolate, is a family affair run by Nataša and Gregor Mikelj. Nataša, who until recently was the director of the Radovljica Public Institute for Tourism and Culture, acknowledges that the idea of opening a chocolate shop was partly due to the success of the Radovljica Chocolate Festival. For nine years the festival has been delighting visitors, and Nataša found herself being ever more interested in chocolate and its production. For years she tried to find a Slovenian chocolatier who would be interested in opening a chocolate shop in Radovljica, however, there wasn't any interest. So, in the end Nataša decided to step boldy into a new venture in the world of chocolate together with her husband, with the intention that visitors can have a chocolate experience in Radovljica 365 days per year.
Radol'ca Chocolate isn't just a chocolate shop but rather a place that unites handmade production of chocolate and other chocolate treats with a boutique chocolate shop where everyone can find chocolate, or chocolates, to suit their taste.
The chocolate shop will also hold various workshops, team building sessions, presentations and tasting sessions. Production of chocolate is based on quality ingredients and, as far as possible, the use of local ingredients and working with locals.
A weekend of chocolate stories will take place in Radovjlica on the second weekend in December – in the Museum of Pharmacy and Alchemy, the new Radol'ca Chocolate chocolate shop, and other food and drink establishments in Linhart Square.
A varied and interesting autumn programme between 26th October and 3rd November will spice up the autumn school holidays in Radovljica.
Radolca Chocolate is a new, boutique chocolate shop, where all the chocolates sold are handmade in-house, located adjacent to Linhart Square in Radovljica.
