Aromatic herbs intertwine with traditional stories and provide a unique characteristic and special taste to food. Join us on this culinary tour where you will listen to stories about selected herbs and find out more about one of the most beautiful towns in Slovenia.
Radovljica is surrounded by sunny meadows and alpine peaks, both of which offer the perfect conditions for the growth of a variety of herbs. Which herbs do we use for tea and when do we pick them, which herbs have a strong aroma of honeybreads, and which are best paired with mouflon?
Join a guided tour through the old town centre of Radovljica where you will visit a herbalist and three of Radovljica’s oldest inns. In addition to a brief explanation of the history of the town, during the walk you will find out a lot of new facts about herbs and their use in cuisine. You will have the chance to make your own herbal tea mixture, try Lectar Inn’s herbal snack and sample Gostilna Avguštin’s deer medallions, before ending in the centuries-old wine cellar at Kunstelj Inn where you will try Maja’s tarragon štruklji with honey.
