The mighty ruins of Kamen Castle greet the visitors above the village of Begunje, right at the entrance to the scenic Draga valley. This famous castle, which once guarded the old trade route across Karavanke mountains, will surely impress you with its size and picturesque location. In the company of a local guide, you will learn about the proud and log history of the castle, where several noble families have lived for many centuries. The most famous of them was the Lamberg noble family, among them knight Caspar II. Lamberg, who was one of the most famous tournament warriors of his time. You will walk through the ruins of the castle, all the way from the garden terraces to the top of the 12th century tower, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the castle, the valley and the surrounding mountains. The tour of the castle is followed by a short hike on the most scenic part of the Lamberg trail, which leads to nearby archaeological sites. You will learn about the prehistoric activities in the Zijalka cave and hear he legend about the construction of the Dwarfs castle, a mysterious fort without windows .
