Eat the chocolate and plant the paper. A chocolate bar filled with certified Slovenian honey wrapped in biodegradable paper made from the seeds of honey plants.
This unique culinary souvenir was created together with the partner of this year’s Radovljica Chocolate Festival – the Slovenian Beekeeping Association, and the Molinet chocolatier from Kropa, while the team at Tourism Radol’ca came up with the idea for the wrapper. The Eat the chocolate and plant the paper chocolate bar is an entirely new product on the Slovenian market. The chocolate bar is filled with certified Slovenian honey, and instead of being wrapped in ordinary paper, it is wrapped in biodegradable paper made from the seeds of honey plants. After eating the chocolate, the wrapper can be planted, where it decomposes, and the seeds in the paper grow into flowers. The product thus has two sustainable aspects – reducing paper packaging and encouraging the growth of honey flowers. The project has the support of the Slovenian Beekeeping Association, which, via the Enjoy it's from Europe project, also promotes Slovenian honey with a protected geographical indication.
The chocolate bar will be available at the 12th Radovljica Chocolate Festival on 12th and 13th April 2025 at the Tourism Radovljica stand and thereafter at the Radovljica Tourist Information Centre. In addition to the chocolate bar filled with honey, a special bee-shaped chocolate will once again be available, this time filled with certified Slovenian honey.
The biggest chocolate event and the most attractive culinary show in Slovenia.
