With effect from 1st December 2021, the team and story created and built at Vila Podvin by chef Uroš Štefelin and his business partner Marcela Klofutar will be moving entirely to a boutique hotel in Linhart Square.
Throughout the month of November, Vila Podvin will still be serving dishes specially created for the Taste Radol'ca month of local menus, thereafter, the exceptional period of the culinary creativity of chef Uroš Štefelin on the outskirts of the village of Mošnje will draw to a close.
Marcel and Uroš bought the boutique Hotel Linhart in the old town centre of Radovlijca at the start of 2020. They decided to buy the hotel, which is situated in beautiful Linhart Square, as a result of their offer being rejected to purchase the building in which Vila Podvin operated. They leased the building for eight-and-a-half years and in that time achieved exceptional success. Since purchasing Hotel Linhart, they have in parallel been strengthening the offer and story of the boutique hotel and bistro, which is located in the centre of the wonderfully preserved old town centre of Radovljica.
Thus, Hotel & Bistro Linhart, which is closed during October and November due to renovation, will reopen on 1st December as Hotel and Restaurant Linhart with the entire Vila Podvin team, who, in this excellent spot in the town of Radovljica, will offer traditional and nostalgic food created by the multi-award-winning chef Uroš Štefelin, as well as sweet culinary treats.
From 1st December onwards, the Vila Podvin team will comprise: chefs – Martin Zupanc, Janez Vahtar, Klara Zorjan, Luka Tratnik; service – Nejc Jakopič, Urban Hofbauer, Tjaša Kelih Šolar, Kristjan Jakša and Marcela Klofutar.
Vila Podvin's full programme of events will also be moving to the new location: cookery workshops for adults and children, workshops for professionals, and a range of events for business and private groups. Although there is less space in the new location than at Vila Podvin, by networking and using the wonderful location in the town, the team will continue to develop exceptional culinary events.
The Podvin farmers and craft market will also be transferring to Radovljica with effect from December, thus becoming the Radol'ca Market, which will take place every first Saturday of the month in Linhart Square.
In addition, from December onwards, every first Tuesday in the month you are invited to be part of the 'We Are Eco' event.
The hotel has 10 rooms and accommodation is offered on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
For the second year in a row Michelin, the most prestigious gastronomic guide, has awarded Vila Podvin with a Michelin Star. It also received a Green Star for its commitment to sustainability.
The heart and soul of Radovljica is Linhart Square which inspires with the variety and authenticity of its preserved architecture.
