Radol’ca is a real culinary destination and autumn is the time when, as part of Culinary Autumn in Radol’ca, the range of culinary experiences is complemented by guided tours and experiences. Although you can enjoy chocolate, wine and good food culinary experiences in the old town centre of Radovljica, this time we invite you to the discover the town’s surroundings: Lesce, Podvin and nearby Podbrezje.

TASTING HONEY AND HONEY PRODUCTS INCLUDING APITHERAPY

Honey tasting, led by Blaženka Jakopič, an experienced apitherapist and manager of the Babka shop in the Beekeeping Education Centre of Gorenjska in Lesce, leads you into a sensory journey in the world of honey and honey products. You will have a chance to taste various types of honey from different parts of Slovenia, as well as honey drinks and other bee products. During the tasting session, you will discover the unique characteristics of each type of honey, including its taste, aroma and health properties.

During the tasting session, participants will learn about the therapeutic properties of honey, which may help you find the right type to support your health and well-being. You will also find out which bee products to include in your daily routine, whether as a food supplement or an ingredient in the preparation of food.

Tasting sessions take place every Friday in October and November in the Babka shop, where three different experiences are available.

THE MAGIC OF FOUR FLAVOURS AT RESTAVRACIJA TABOR

This unique experience offers culinary pampering, which combines the tastes of the sea, wine and chocolate. Amid the pleasant ambience of one of the best seafood restaurants in Slovenia, you will be hosted by Mateja Markič, the restaurant manager and sommelier, and Maks Pogačnik, the manager of the family Kropa-based Molinet chocolatier. During the workshop, participants will find out about Restavracija Tabor, tastes of the sea and excellent wines. You will acquire knowledge of wine and chocolate, and part of the experience includes an interactive game involving identifying flavours. The highlight of the experience is a visit to the oldest part of the building – the 200-year-old wine cellar, full of the finest Slovenian and selected other wines.

The experience is an excellent opportunity for enjoyable socialising with friends and family. Selected dates are available throughout October.

Workshop with a sommelier at Vila Podvin

A workshop with a sommelier at Vila Podvin is an excellent opportunity for those who would like to know, or improve, their knowledge of wine. In addition to spending an evening enjoying excellent food at Vila Podvin, during the workshop you will also find out how to handle wine, how to choose the right glass and how to serve wine. Participants will learn which types of wine pair best with different flavours and dishes and discover interesting secrets hidden in every glass. The workshop is run by Marko Koren, an expert in the sommelier profession. Participants will receive valuable advice that will enable them to enrich food at home by choosing the ideal wine for each occasion.

Workshops take place at Vila Podvin, where a gourmet restaurant experience awaits, every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday upon prior arrangement.
