On Friday, in Podbrezje, seven chefs, and prior to that providers of local products and produce, ensured a delicious start to the Month of Local Menus, which seven Taste Radol’ca restaurants will offer until the end of November.
November in Radol’ca is the traditional Month of Local Menus. These are menus created using traceable ingredients and which are available for a set price at participating Taste Radol’ca restaurants. Seven restaurants are taking part this year, and the price of the set menus is 30 euros.
This year, the wonderful opening event took place for the first time at Restavracija Tabor in Podbrezje. The event started in the garden, where visitors met local producers and tasted their products. The participants were the Darja Ecological Farm, the Šlibar Farm, the Pr Mrkot Farm, Gostišče Draga, Vinakras and local housewives who had baked Podbrezje potica. Accompanying Karst wines were provided by the Vinakras wine cellar, which was this year’s partner of the opening event and the opening dinner. The musician Boštjan Pertinač from Sežana provided an additional Karst touch.
The opening dinner, which sold out weeks ahead of the event, featured a 5-course menu made using traceable ingredients and prepared by the chefs from all seven participating restaurants. The finest flavour combinations, a great atmosphere and excellent accompanying wines ensured a lovely evening at Restavracija Tabor. Below you can see which chefs prepared which course:
Throughout November, local menus made using traceable ingredients are available at: Hiša Linhart, Gostišče Tulipan, Vila Podvin, Gostišče Draga, Restavracija Šobec and Baffi House of Pizza. You can see the menus at each restaurant here
